F.A.Q.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT TO DO FOR MY FIRST CROSSFIT CREED?

Expect to see a gym that’s not typical, in a really fun way. You’ll see some different equipment, such as kettlebells, pull-up bars, parallel bars, and Olympic-style weightlifting equipment. The great thing is you will be trained and coached on all these things. And you’ll see people having fun and working hard!

CAN YOU HELP ME LOSE WEIGHT?

A lot of people think they can get to their weight-loss goals just by working out. We make clear that working out provides a foundation for weight loss and for healthy bodies, but weight loss is primarily about eating right. We direct clients to resources that can help them eat right.

IS CFC FOR ME?

Functional Fitness can be for everyone - parents, kids, seniors, elite athletes - you name it! It does not matter what your current fitness level is; increased cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, accuracy, agility, and balance are each important to the world's best athletes and to you.

DO I NEED TO BE IN SHAPE FIRST?

We scale every workout to match your current abilities and will increase load as your fitness progresses. We hear this used as an excuse to get out of coming to the gym more than anything else. If you can walk and move, you are ready to come to CrossFit Creed.

WHAT DOES WOD MEAN?

WOD stands for Workout Of the Day. Like the name says each day has its own workout.

HOW LONG IS THE AVERAGE 535 WORKOUT?

Sessions are scheduled for 1 hour. This typically will include a warm-up, a skill session, explanation of the workout, examples and instruction of the movements, and the actual workout.

WHAT IF I CAN’T DO THE WORKOUT AS PRESCRIBED?

Only about 15-20% of the global Functional Fitness community completes every WOD as it is prescribed. Prescribed, or Rx, can certainly be a goal of yours but it should by no means be a point of stress for you. You do what you can do, and you don’t worry about anyone else. This sustainable programming approach will keep you happy and healthy but always serve as a goal-setting mechanism in your development.
